Can you believe it is December? This year has flown by! As we wrap up 2021 and enter the Christmas season, we want to encourage you to remember the greatest gift of all, Jesus Christ. This season can quickly become very busy, but it's important to remember what Christmas is about.
There is no greater gift than the gift that God sent us thousands of years ago. God is with us, and He is for us! It is because of Him that we are free and can live in peace and hope.
"Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means 'God is with us.'" Matthew 1:23
Pastors Conference in Chiapas
Last week, all of the Iglesia de Jesucristo Sobre la Roca pastors gathered for the annual pastors conference in Tuxtla Gutierrez, Chiapas. Over 230 pastors attended this year! This conference is a beautiful time for the pastors to gather, grow in their leadership and receive from the Lord. We are thankful for all that the Lord is doing throughout Mexico and how He uses each of these pastors in their communities. Continue to pray for these pastors as they faithfully lead their communities and preach God's Word.
We're Gearing Up For Christmas!
We're so excited to be in-person for our Christmas celebration in Chiapas this year. Each year, we take the children of Casa Hogar Alegre shopping and throw a big Christmas party for them, showering them with clothing, toys, and special treats. In addition, we spend time in the mountains of Chenalhó with the indigenous children. This year, thanks to your giving, we will give out 500 bags of fruit, sugar-free candy, and small toys to the children in Chenalhó. We are so excited to bless these children this year!
Work Trip: January 31 - February 5, 2022
The dormitory facilities in Chenalhó are in need of maintenance (minor repairs such as plumbing, electrical, painting, etc.) Join us for this work trip in Chenalhó to help get the dormitories ready for our future teams!
The cost of this trip is $275 per person, plus airfare. Specific flight details will be given after signing up for the trip. Please let Kari Payne know if you are interested in joining this team.
