We have a lot of projects going on, including putting on a new roof on a church in Barrio Chalam, Mpio de Mitontic, Chiapas and finishing the building of three new churches. Below we have highlighted one of our favorite organizations to partner with in Tuxtla, Casa Hogar Alegre, have an update on the homes that we are building, and information about how you can be involved in the ministry taking place in Chiapas.  Casa Hogar Alegre Casa Hogar Alegre is easily a highlight of each trip the we take! The children are full of so much joy and our teams love getting to visit them.  The orphanage was started by Mama Liz in 1993 and has been helping children and families ever since. Casa Hogar Alegre is home to over 100 children that come from abusive homes or have been abandoned. Each child receives food, clothing, and education through this Christ-centered organization.  Pogue Family Missions supports Casa Hogar Alegre by funding the Christmas shopping trip, making donations throughout the year, and bringing teams to visit. We love being a part of the ministry taking place at Casa Hogar and bringing hope and love to the children that call it home.  If you would like to make a donation toward Casa Hogar Alegre, click the link below.  Donate to Casa Hogar Alegre Let's Build Some Homes! Over the past few months, we have been working to build new homes in Tuxtla for a few families from Torre Fuerte that were kicked out just before Christmas. Over 200 families were evicted from their homes in an area where Torre Fuerte had been hosting weekly kids programs and given food and household supplies.  In January, we set a goal to raise $49,000 to cover the cost of land and 4 casitas, or small homes. Thanks to you, we have been able to raise $30,700 with an additional commitment of $4,000! Two of the homes have been completed and given to the families that will live there. They are so excited and blessed to have a place to call home.  Pictured above is one of the new casitas.  The remaining amount needed to complete this project is $14,300. This will go towards completing the additional homes. If you're unable to help financially, we ask that you pray for the families that have been evicted and help us share this project. We know that with your help we can provide shelter to these families!  Donate towards Tuxtla Casitas Water Filtration Systems Many people in Mexico, especially in rural areas, do not have access to clean drinking water. People either buy water to drink or go without if they are unable to afford it. Last week, Tom Brewster got to see the new water filtration systems that will be given to people in need. These water filtration systems us a ceramic filter and two five-gallon buckets to filter the water and will last at least a year with proper maintenance. We are so excited to bless the people of Chiapas in a practical way!  Hope for the Future Although we have not been able to be in Mexico physically over the last few months, our efforts to support the people and the mission of our organization have not stopped. Thanks to your generous donations, we have been able to continue supporting the local orphanage, Casa Hogar Alegre, the clinic in Tuxtla, the widows at Casa de Esperanza, the local pastor, and we've been able to fund the building of multiple churches.
